Uses for snow: #412.

Yesterday, I received a call from a man who said his coworker had just amputated his leg on some machinery. After giving the caller (who was magnificent - so calm, cool, collected) first aid instructions, I turned my attention to the leg.
"Do you have a plastic bag and some ice?" I asked.
"I have a bag, but no ice," he replied.
Good thing we had snow yesterday.
I still have a mental picture of that poor leg-in-a-bag* sticking out of a snowbank.

*NEVER put snow or ice IN the bag with the appendage. Put the appendage in the bag, then place the bag in the snow or ice.
